Note: DoGoodery will continue to make telework available for all employees based on COVID government guidelines. To effectively transition into this role, the communications manager will be asked to come into the Hollywood office as needed. Once government guidelines are relieved, the position will be hybrid, with the majority of the position continuing to be telework unless needed in the office or onsite.

We’re looking for someone who can manage the day-to-day communications for our growing social impact consulting agency in LA. This role works directly with the Director of Strategy and Culture.

You’re an excellent communicator who can find the best ways to meet the needs of a growing audience. You’ve got initiative and experience building engagement across platforms. You’re a social media extraordinaire with an eye for design  who can see the big picture of communications strategy. You’re ready to help us level up our social media presence! We’re looking for creative ideas, a positive attitude and a good old-fashioned work ethic. The perfect candidate is a bit of an octopus — you can have your hands on multiple projects at one time. We’re looking for someone who is flexible and willing to switch gears quickly. You also don’t shy away from data and metrics; analytics is a big part of your toolbox.

  • Craft overarching communications strategy for the DoGoodery brand and for public-facing client initiatives 
  • Establish associated benchmarks and metrics to measure success and effective impact 
  • Develop and implement new content campaigns for DoGoodery and clients as needed
  • Create social media content, including designing posts, and engage with followers
  • Write and edit website copy, blog posts, and other communications
  • Coordinate and manage communications support for clients as needed (this may include social media posts, blog posts, etc.)
  • Write and distribute newsletters and support email marketing efforts
  • Increase engagement across all social media platforms
  • Support DoGoodery team members with social media campaigns for events and programs as needed
  • Provide support at onsite productions, including creating live posts and live video content
  • Analyze data and determine clear metrics using Hootsuite, Google Analytics, Facebook Analytics and other tools 
  • Review data from analytics tools and regularly run reports to examine effectiveness for internal and external stakeholders
  • Write talking points for speakers and basic video scripts for videos
  • Maintain brand integrity and brand style guide
  • Organize communications assets (e.g. photos, videos)
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested

Job Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential
  • Social media prowess — experience posting and managing multiple social media accounts
  • Experience with Hootsuite (or other social media  scheduling softwares) 
  • Proven experience in increasing engagement across platforms 
  • Proficiency in Canva and Adobe Suite (Photoshop, inDesign) highly preferred 
  • Proactive and preemptive; you’re ready to step up rather than react
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and competing priorities, and meet deadlines on time
  • Creative and driven by data; a good mix of right brain and left brain
  • A good eye for design, photos, images, and videos
  • Video and audio editing skills preferred, but not required
  • Ability to work independently, but also work effectively as a team member
  • Experience with Adobe, Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, MS Suite 
  • Sense of humor (no, really) 
  • Quick learner who can jump in and learn/apply new data analytics in real time
  • Must have an ability to work efficiently, with flexibility, creativity, and positive energy
  • Sincere interest in making the world a better place, including but not limited to social impact, education, sustainability, social justice, and civic engagement
  • Contribute to the dynamic and positive energy of the current team that extends to our clients

Qualifications and Education Requirements 

  • Undergraduate degree preferred, but not required
  • At least 4 years of robust communications experience
  • Please submit up to 3 writing samples and 2 links to relevant social media accounts in your application
